During his tenure in law enforcement, John served in various leadership roles, managing, and participating in units and task forces such as the Background Investigations Unit, Internal Affairs, Professional StandardsUnit, Homicide Unit, Special Victim's Unit, and Financial Crimes Unit.Moreover, he actively participated in the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force, theU.S. Marshal's Wanted Task Force, and the DEA's High-Intensity Drug TraffickingArea (HIDTA) task force for over a decade. 

John's expertise and commitment to public service extended beyond his law enforcement career. After retiring as Assistant Chief of Police in 2017, John has been dedicated to helping businesses and individuals make better personnel decisions by conducting corporate security investigations for some of the largest companies in the United States and Canada. Additionally, he teaches business owners and individuals background investigation techniques and strategies.

Besides his professional work, John is also passionate about national efforts, including child safety, college campus safety, and gender and diversity issues. His passion for these topics has led him to become a frequent speaker on business and law enforcement topics across the United States.

John holds a Master's degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University and a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from Arizona State University. He graduated from the FBI's National Academy and has completed post-graduate work at the University of Virginia in Counterterrorism. Moreover, he completed advanced training at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, demonstrating his dedication to the field of criminal justice and child safety.
